Woojin Industrial Systems Brings Growing Rail and Zero-Emission Mobility Portfolio to InnoTrans and APTA’s 2026 TRANSform & Expo

Company’s expanding portfolio spans railcars, rail modernization, automated transit, electric buses, hydrogen mobility, and advanced transportation technology

September 2026 — Woojin Industrial Systems will participate in two of the transportation industry’s leading international events this Fall — InnoTrans 2026 Hall 4.2 #120 in Berlin, Germany, and the American Public Transportation Association’s TRANSform & EXPO 2026 Booth 2917 event in Chicago, Illinois, USA — highlighting a growing portfolio of rail and zero-emission mobility solutions for transit agencies and communities around the world.

Woojin’s presence at the two events reflects the company’s continued evolution from its foundation in railway electrical systems and components into a manufacturer and integrator of complete transportation vehicles and systems. Today, Woojin’s work encompasses rail car design and manufacturing; vehicle refurbishment; automated guideway transit vehicles, infrastructure, and systems; a variety of buses including battery, electric, and hydrogen powered; and advanced mobility research and development.

“APTA 2026 will be Woojin’s first North American exhibition since we significantly expanded our systems and vehicle manufacturing capabilities in Southern California, strengthening the company’s ability to perform major rail programs in the U.S.” says Tom Martin, President, Woojin IS America. “We are currently advancing the comprehensive refurbishment of LACMTA’s A650 heavy rail fleet at our newly built Refurbishment Center in Los Angeles. The program covers 74 heavy rail vehicles and is valued at approximately $213.6 million under the current LA Metro contract. The first upgraded vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year.”

Woojin has established itself as a complete rolling-stock manufacturer, with recent orders in South Korea for new railcars for Busan Transportation Corporation, KORAIL and Seoul Metro, these programs build on experience gained in Korea’s dense, high-volume transportation networks, where reliability, capacity, and operational performance are tested every day. That proven experience provides a foundation Woojin can bring to transportation agencies and markets around the world.

Woojin is also extending its transportation expertise beyond conventional rail. Its K-AGT automated guideway transit technology has been deployed on urban transit systems, while the company’s APOLLO bus platform continues to expand across battery-electric, hydrogen, and autonomous applications. Current development programs include a long-range, and advanced battery-management technology designed to improve safety, diagnostics, and fleet performance.

“Our work today reflects the breadth of experience Woojin has built across transportation — from the systems inside a vehicle to the complete vehicle itself,” explains Joseph Kim, VP, Woojin IS America. “InnoTrans and APTA give us an opportunity to meet with transportation leaders from around the world and show how that experience can support agencies looking for reliable, responsive, and forward-looking mobility solutions.”

InnoTrans 2026

InnoTrans 2026 will be held September 22–25 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds in Germany. The international rail exhibition will bring together manufacturers, operators, suppliers, and transportation leaders from around the world, with the 2026 program placing particular attention on alternative propulsion and emerging mobility technologies.
